Our visit to Somerset.
Above Cheddar Gorge.
Thatched cottage in a Somerset village.
A rather unique hedge.
....... and another.
Barrington Court and gardens.
..................they make a lovely backdrop for the roses.
Brick patterned paths......................
In 1920, Barrington Court was saved from complete dereliction by Colonel Lyle (from Lyle&Tate) who offered to 'look after' it for the National Trust, so he could house his collection of wooden wall panels, fireplaces and staircases. It is devoid of furniture - and so was the perfect place to film scenes from 'Wolfe Hall'.
Some of the costumes from the TV programme were on display in 4 of the rooms.
The costumes were hand sewn!!
Some fixtures were still in place..............
This lock was on an internal door.
An area of the walled garden still producing fruit and vegetables.
A vine on the outside wall.
