Day 7/8 - without cycles, in Vienna.

                             The hotel we stayed in in Vienna. 
The breakfasts were amazing ..... providing enough for a packed lunch as well.

Hofburg Palace... the political centre of the monarchy until 1918, now houses offices of the president, the chancellery, state secretary as well as numerous cultural institutions.

The Schonbrunn palace.............built 1696-1730, with 1,441 rooms and chambers. It served as Habsburg summer residence and venue of the congress of Vienna.



Day 6

....approx 40k..............to Vienna.


      Leaving from outside the hotel, ( Gasthof zur Weintraube in Traismauer) where we stayed last night..................for the last days cycle.

                                 Vienna

Day 5

 .....approx 70k ....to Traismauer. This was the longest day, through the romantic Wachau wine-producing region, arriving at the hotel in the dark, but it was the most interesting day with lots to see on the trail.

 We took another very steep detour to see the church at the top (the view spoilt by the hotels!!)
